Encyclopaedia celebrated at Frankfurt Book Fair

All major trade customers and distributors were invited to a launch of The Welsh Academy Encyclopaedia of Wales at a joint party hosted by the University of Wales Press and International Business Wales, at the Frankfurt Book Fair in October.

       

Despite the recent disappointing news that the Encyclopaedia will be available in January 2008 and not November 2007 as originally planned, the mood was upbeat and anticipation high for the publication of this excellent book.
International distributors are preparing for this landmark publication: North American partners, University of Chicago Press, are gearing up to receive multiple thousands of copies in their warehouse for a 1st March publication date. Japanese and European representatives are busy approaching likely outlets for the book across their regions. Ex-pat communities in New Zealand, Australia and Asia won’t miss out either as all trade suppliers get information about the Encyclopaedia to wherever it can be sold.

Frankfurt Book Fair is the biggest event in the publishing and book-selling calendar and thanks to the support of International Business Wales and the Welsh Books Council, The Welsh Academy Encylcopaedia of Wales has been given a worthy introduction to its potentially huge international audience.
